“The machines… The machines!!!”; “Maybe, but they don’t reason” – (Totò – La banda degli onesti [The Band of Honest Men])
These pages aim to address themes that, although relegated to a niche, can reveal those elements that might sometimes appear contrary to consolidated contemporary theories, recalling those veiled narratives almost separate from daily contexts and so fleeting in the ordinary bustle of our lives.
We will explain theses and arguments in order to rediscover that harmony of form and intent that has been set aside for too long.
How can one explain harmony and how can one highlight the beauty that derives from it? Here we will seek the path and the ways, and we will also draw examples from reality to clarify our ideas even better, but we will not flaunt (not too much) absolute truths, as we are committed to continuous research.
Examining the reason why a certain reality exists, in one or a more or less broad argumentation, does not mean arriving at the solution to a problem, but discovering the elements that could help us in other and still other discussions.
When I started talking about my doubts regarding what seemed to be so obvious, I did not yet have any kind of solutions in mind, and the others who listened to me were also a help in unveiling the secrets; day after day, an idea began to take shape in small steps, which I will highlight in the forthcoming writings in the clearest and most explicit way possible.
For years it seems to have been normal to think according to certain schemes, to realize architectural works that had to follow certain trends (and unfortunately still do) that in theory appeared beautiful and effective but which then shattered against reality, remaining there to represent their failure. I will try to explain why this happened in the years from the 1900s onwards as my practical and theoretical research progresses.
